The Chair of the Commodities Futures Buying and selling Fee (CFTC) says that former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao will face jail in relation to latest costs.
Talking in a brand new CNBC interview, CFTC Chair Rostin Behnam says that he expects Zhao to spend time in jail after pleading responsible to failing to maintain ample anti-money laundering protocols for Binance, the world’s largest crypto alternate.

In a latest court docket submitting, the authorities argued that Zhao, a citizen of two different nations, posed a “severe threat of flight” after his responsible pleas.
“As a non-U.S. however UAE (United Arab Emirates) citizen with substantial wealth outdoors the USA, minimal ties to the USA, and a residence in a rustic with out an extradition treaty with the USA, Zhao poses a severe threat of flight and [it is] requested that he be required to stay within the continental United States pending sentencing.”
